Our children are so fortunate to grow up in a world with people from many different cultures and backgrounds. Concord Hill believes in the importance of creating a learning environment in which its students can appreciate differences between each other and benefit from the exploration and interaction of such differences. Classroom activities embrace cultural differences and similarities, and offer students the opportunity to explore the many ways in which individuals can identify themselves—all at an age-appropriate level.
The Concord Hill School Diversity Committee is charged with the task of helping build and strengthen such a diverse school community. The Diversity Committee consists of both faculty members and parents, and meets regularly throughout the year to discuss ideas that contribute to the awareness of diversity issues in our curriculum, as well as events and activities that help our children understand, appreciate, and benefit from their own uniqueness and the uniqueness of those around them.
Concord Hill School Diversity Commitment
Concord Hill School seeks students, families, and faculty with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that a child’s education is enriched by both a community that includes people with diverse beliefs, perspectives, and experiences, along with a curriculum that incorporates diversity into our students’ lives.
Diversity is reflected in the Concord Hill School curriculum through literature, games, and activities that represent our diverse world. We are dedicated to incorporating diversity and inclusion within the curriculum in all grades, using age-appropriate materials and engaging methods such as play, role play, and class discussions to enhance the presence and importance of our global community.
