A leader in early childhood education since 1965, Concord Hill School celebrates these early years, grounding every decision in what is best for young learners. I am thrilled to welcome you and introduce you to our special community.

Early childhood is the most magical, time in a person’s life. Young children are sponges for learning; from birth they are wired to soak up every word, image, and interaction they encounter. Providing a child with his or her first schooling experience comes with the highest responsibility and the greatest opportunity to guide a child and equip them for a lifetime of learning. Creating the ideal environment that nurtures each child’s innate curiosity, creativity, and wonderment, while building foundational skills, self-confidence, and a sense of agency are what make the six years of school from Age 3 to Grade 3 the most important and impactful of their lives. I am confident this is why so many families have chosen CHS for over 50 years, understanding than an investment in a school whose sole mission is to provide what is best for our youngest children is an investment for a lifetime.

Concord Hill provides an intimate and personalized experience for every learner. With an average class size of 15 students, deep and trusting relationships are built so that every child feels known, celebrated, and supported. In the core subjects of reading and math, classroom teacher-to-student ratios of 6:1 provide the ideal environment for differentiated instruction, high expectations, and individualized feedback. The warmth and connectedness that is cultivated in a community of only 90 students helps every child feel safe to take risks essential to the process of learning.

CHS faculty and staff are experienced, passionate, and dedicated early childhood specialists, 82% of whom possess advanced degrees. They are life-long learners who actively engage in professional development as they strive to continually hone their craft and stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in child development and education.

Building on our Five Core Values—Knowledge, Character, Respect, Play, and Community—our inclusive school community balances tradition with innovation while staying true to our mission. Our program develops the whole child with a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning which is critical to a child's academic achievement and success in life. Our program is grounded in developmentally appropriate practices and includes an intentional progression of core curricula and enrichment classes across the years.

At CHS we are committed to helping every child launch from Third Grade with the confidence, character, knowledge, and skills to succeed in the future schools of their choice. We walk hand in hand with our families throughout this placement process and our reputation speaks for itself. Receiving schools know that Concord Hill graduates are students of the highest character—contributing, caring members of their individual class, school, and the broader community. They are well-rounded individuals who have grown to become leaders, especially in their roles as Third Grade Seniors. They have grown to be big fish in a small pond and are ready for the next adventure in their schooling career.
