In Primary, our four- and five-year-old children participate as valuable members of a collaborative team, working in both large and small groups.
Young children are naturally curious and eager to explore and investigate. The
Primary curriculum is guided by the interests of the group and is explored
through short and long-term projects. Whether
it is through group discussions or art media representation, Primary students
are encouraged to share their thoughts, ideas, theories, and stories about the
world and are provided with many ways of doing so. The rich curriculum of
in-depth studies, which has included mountains, boats, and medieval times,
allows children to become “experts” in an age-appropriate manner. The curriculum continues to be supported with classes in music, physical education, library, and art. Creative play provides opportunities for our
students to develop socially, physically, and emotionally.
Our Primary children advance to the next step of Kindergarten having gained a love of learning, a greater sense of confidence, and an ability to negotiate and cooperate with peers.
